This year, the Christian Holy Week and the Jewish festival of Passover coincide with the first anniversary of the fall of Baghdad. Grounded in our diverse religious faiths and in the prophetic call to peace, we ask: Who are the captives we must set free? Who are those being sacrificed in the name of a false security?

Our faith calls us to bear witness:
  • to the continued suffering in Afghanistan and Iraq
  • to the Guantanamo captives held without charges or legal status
  • to the sacrifice of our own soldiers
  • to the poor and marginalized in our own nation

Join us in prayers for justice, in bearing witness to the mandates of our faith, and in a prophetic call to set the captives free.
